Our “rotating fighting arts” classes will tackle a different historical discipline every two months, giving roughly eight weeks to get our teeth into each method we study. Ideal for getting a taste of some of the different disciplines that can be found in HEMA!

Possible fighting systems include: sword and buckler, Highland broadsword and targe, British bayonet fencing, medieval dagger fencing, working with quarterstaff or polearms, Victorian walking stick self defence, and plenty of others.

The next course will be a 6-week course on 15th and 16th Century Langesmesser Fighting, the long martial knife. This course will start on Tuesday 17th February 2026, with tickets on sale now.

Newcomers are welcome in the first couple of weeks of any new block, but thereafter we would prefer to concentrate and to build one what has already been trained. You can always wait to join in on the next block when we start the next subject.
