Description

Ahoy and avast, you ghosts, ghouls and goblins of the night!

The Vanguard Centre Halloween Archery Party is back!

This is a special ticket only archery session for members and friends of The Vanguard Centre and Academy Of Historical Arts, where we change the rules somewhat and have a themed, low intensity shooting session with a twist…

The dreaded Shambling Necro-Squash have returned! The night of the cackling Evil Zombie Pumpkin Men is upon us – from the darkest depths of supermarket seasonal aisles come to feast upon our tender brain-meats and quivering giblets.
Only by removing the head or destroying the seed-filled brain can they be stopped, and we have just the tools for the job: bows and arrows!
We will provide the bows and arrows, targets and atmosphere (including special effects and ambience), all we need are some Vanguard Archers to hold the line and splat some fruit!
You are of course welcome to use your own equipment if you have it, subject to safety check, but do be aware that things tend to get a bit… juicy. It would also be great if people could show up in costume, either as part of the The Vanguard Centre Zombie Apocalypse Response Unit or in your favourite Halloween get-up. ?
During and after the shooting, the event will change into a social gathering with snacks and refreshments available – you are welcome to bring your own to enjoy and share if you like, and we may call a general disarm toward the end of the evening to allow for the consumption of alcoholic beverages in a safe social environment.

Tickets and attendance

Tickets will cost ยฃยฃ17.50 for AHA members and ยฃ20.00 for others, and will be available to buy online and from the Centre front desk. While some tuition and coaching will be made available at this event depending on staff levels, there may not be full support given for beginner level shooters, so attendance at a regular scheduled archery session beforehand will be useful if you have never shot before.
More news and updates will come soon, but for now you can express your interest and ask any relevant questions you have. Start planning your costume and practising your head-shots, its pumpkin hunting time!
