Roll up all ye merry archers and try your luck at the Vanguard Games Night, Mark 2: new and improved!
Starting at 7.00pm on Saturday the 15th of November 2025, we will be hosting all manner of games from challenging to silly, and always fun!
The ever popular Hostage Game will be available, although a friendly reminder that groin shots don’t count. Tic-Tac-Toe, noughts and crosses (other names are available) will be shot at all three distances in an elimination style. Speed shooting games will be run, shot at the 15m line (standard centre target distance) so come along and test your speed as well as accuracy and, time allowing, the duelling game will be played.
The event will last three hours (7pm to 10pm), with rules explained/demonstrated for each game. Spreadsheet, scoreboard and the event screen will be in use, as will the monocular for distance scoring (I’m not running up and down the VC like last time!). Dress up, dress down, bring snacks (just no booze) but definitely have fun. It will be a fun, informal affair with guidance given to improve your archery along the way. A bargain if ever there was one!
We also accept other items to be shot at – The standard session pass is always welcome but anything you bring that doesn’t pose a danger to other archers we can string up, pin up, hang from rope or otherwise and give it a good peppering for some rewarding catharsis. Movie posters, balloons, DVD copies of Clive Owen’s King Arthur movie… maybe not photos of your boss or ex-partner… or your actual boss or ex-partner!
